Sunrise and Sunset in the Book of Enoch
Today we will explore the topic, “Sunrise and sunset in The Book Of Enoch.” Sunrise and Sunset cycles were the first topics in The Science of Astronomy as taught by Archangel Uriel in The Book of Enoch Chapter 72.
Book of Enoch 72: 1 – 2:
1. The book of the courses of the luminaries of the heaven, the relations of each, according to their classes, their dominion and their seasons, according to their names and places of origin, and according to their months,
which Uriel, the holy angel, who was with me, who is their guide, showed me; and he showed me all their laws exactly as they are, and how it is with regard to all the years of the world and unto eternity, till the new creation is accomplished which dureth till eternity.
The sun rises in the east and sets in the west
It is a known and undisputable scientific fact that the Sun rises in the east and sets in the west. It was that way at the beginning of time and this will continue forever.
Sunrise is the moment the upper edge of the solar disk (otherwise known as the upper limb or upper rim of the sun), becomes visible above the horizon in the morning (TimeAndDate, 2022, Wikipedia, 2022).
How much of the sun is above the horizon at sunrise?
There is a false sunrise and a true sunrise. False sunrise occurs before the Sun reaches the horizon. This is due to the refraction of the Sun’s image by the Earth’s atmosphere.
During false sunrise, the average amount of refraction is 34 arcminutes.
Sunrise actually occurs when the Sun’s upper limb crosses the horizon. At that time, the radius of the Sun at the horizon is 16 arcminutes.
At the time of sunrise, the Sun’s center is 50 arcminutes below the horizon, or 90.83° from the zenith Wikipedia, 2022).
Sunrise takes place in an instance of time
Astronomically, the sunrise event takes place for only an instance. That is, sunrise is the moment at which the upper limb of the Sun appears tangent to the horizon Wikipedia, 2022).
Sunrise results from the rotation of the earth around the sun
Although the Sun appears to “rise” from the horizon, it is actually the Earth’s motion that causes the Sun to appear.
What is earth’s rotation?
Earth rotates around the sun on an axis, which is its invisible north-south pole. It spins once every 24 hours around the sun.
Earth’s rotation is counterclockwise and eastward in direction. (Wikipedia, 2022).
Isaiah the Prophet Scientist documented that the earth has an axis:
The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
Sunrise is preceded by a period known as TWILIGHT OR DAWN
Twilight or dawn is the period in the morning during which the sky begins to brighten. However, the Sun is not yet visible. The beginning of morning twilight is called astronomical dawn Wikipedia, 2022)..
Morning Twilight or dawn is the division that God placed between darkness and light:
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

Sunset occurs when the upper edge of the solar disk (otherwise called the upper limb) disappears below the horizon (TimeandDate, 2022).
Sunset is preceded by a gradual waning of light called the evening twilight
NASA (2022), says this about Evening Twilight:
“No sudden, sharp boundary marks the passage of day into night in this gorgeous view of ocean and clouds over our fair planet Earth. Instead, the shadow line or terminator is diffuse and shows the gradual transition to darkness we experience as twilight.”
